Taking action from the belief that all good things come from the Lord, our family has established an organization that helps them share our abundance of blessings to help communities flourish and positively change lives. The Venverloh Family Foundation also supports organizations that are committed to making a stronger society. We are constantly inspired by our partner organizations’ intentionality and the innovative approaches they take to improve lives.

Our work is focused on three action areas: education, faith and justice.

Why We Support Education:

The Venverloh Family Foundation’s goal is to provide and improve education opportunities for communities around the world. Globally, school represents so much more than just a place to learn; it is a safe environment for underprivileged children or those with unstable homes. Education is vital in empowering the next generation of leaders in the world.

Many developing countries lack access to educational resources, and members of rural communities in these countries face more acute challenges due to the lack of accessibility.

Our Impact:

Forty percent of Haitians over the age of 15 do not know how to read and write and even fewer adults in Haiti know how to use a computer. So as the world becomes more and more digital, computer proficiency is a critical skill for education, as well as entering the workforce. The Venverloh Family Foundation, in partnership with non-profit Compassion International, funded a computer resource center in Arcahaie, Haiti to provide educational programs for adults and children.

Our goal is to educate the community on the importance of learning computer skills for income generation and social mobility as well as equip the community with the tools to do so by providing computers, desks, a projector and books. In addition, Haiti has one of the highest unemployment rates (14 percent) in the Western Hemisphere. The Caribbean island of Haiti does not have public transportation to connect rural families to educational resources. Without this education or training, financial security is far less certain.

The Venverloh Family Foundation has supported vocational training in southern Haiti through our partnership with non-profit Compassion International. The Foundation supported the renovation and expansion of the local church’s sewing lab which allows for more workers. With the donations, the church was able to purchase new sewing machines, allowing more seamstresses to use their skills to make a living. The Foundation contributed to the hiring of two program leaders in order for the seamstresses to learn technical sewing skills, as well as provide the leadership and administrative training needed for these mothers to start businesses of their own. Whether it is constructing classrooms in Castra, Haiti or supporting initiatives in northern California, contributing to education is a core action area for the foundation. The Venverloh Family Foundation’s donations to these non-profits continue to support numerous life-changing projects across the globe.

Why Faith Matters to Us:

Faith is the underlying initiative behind every move the Venverloh Family Foundation makes. Our belief is that faith can transform individuals, families, and communities for the greater good, because of this many of the organizations that we partner with are faith-based and Christian-oriented nonprofits who are sharing the truth of the gospel.

Our Impact:

The Venverloh Family Foundation proudly supports two campus ministry programs at Stanford University: Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) and Athletes in Action (AIA).

Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) is a campus ministry that is committed to sharing Christ with college students. RUF is determined to serve not only the students on the college campuses but the university as a whole through the service they provide.

Athletes in Action (AIA) is a campus ministry that serves the spiritual needs and awakenings of college athletes that the athletic departments can not provide them with. AIA trains athletes through ministry to be ethical leaders of faith, both on the field and in their everyday lives.

We embrace that college years are a transformational time for students, and know from personal experience what an emotional time college can be, and the critical role faith can and should play during these life-changing years. You can read more about the College Campus Ministry here.

Why Justice is Important:

Securing human rights for all is a central component for the Venverloh Family Foundation. We fight the oppression of vulnerable groups across the world by donating to nonprofits that have a common goal to fight systemic injustice and systems that disadvantage populations.

Injustice is rampant throughout the world in a wide variety of circumstances, our goal is to promote justice and provide a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. Through our partner nonprofits, we have brought trafficked humans out of slavery, improved living conditions and provided educational opportunities for the oppressed.

Our Impact:

There are an estimated 40 million men, women and children in slavery around the world and that number is increasing every day. International Justice Mission (IJM) is dedicated to ending slavery worldwide. They work with local justice officials, community partners and advocates across the world to stop the abuse of vulnerable populations.

The Venverloh Family Foundation has dedicated its voice, time and resources to IJM’s mission since 2014. Our goal is aligned with IJM’s; to rescue and restore victims, bring criminals to justice and strengthen justice systems. Because of IJM’s work, families have been freed from slavery, girls from brothels and children from cybersex trafficking.

We believe that through the work of the organization and its foundation in the Christian faith, we can stop this violent injustice and end slavery and sex trafficking in our lifetime. You can read more about our mission to ending human sex trafficking here.
